Mrs Krista Cardwell – PAEC
Krista Cardwell is an accomplished, performer, choreographer and teacher, with over 25 years in the industry. Krista is the Owner/Director of Ignite Dance Project, a Burlington, Ontario based dance company, founded in 2016. As a studio owner and director, Krista knows the work, training and commitment, that goes into a competitive dance team. She is a sought-after choreographer and guest instructor throughout Southern Ontario. Krista is a full member of the Performing Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC) in the ballet and jazz division. Her students have earned top examination marks at the highest levels of ballet and jazz, including the professional division. Originally from Hamilton, Krista has trained in such styles as jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, modern, musical theatre and acro.
As a fully certified dance instructor, Krista is best known for continuously striving to provide the best in dance education. Krista realizes the importance of preparing her students for a career in dance and theatre. Her students are continually recognized for their flawless technique, cleanliness and performance qualities. Her outstanding choreography has earned her the Overall Choreographer award at multiple competitions throughout her career. Krista’s students have earned top marks and overall titles such as Highest Mark of the Competition, and Dance Off Champions. Her students have also earned thousands of dollars in cash scholarships, as well as countless dance scholarships throughout Canada and the United States. Many of Krista’s students have earned apprenticing and assistant positions at prestigious conventions and workshops. Many of her graduate students have gone on to pursue dance and theatre at a professional level.
Krista is a passionate teacher, studio owner who loves to continue growing, learning and working with new students and helping them shine through dance.
Mrs Mandy London – Acrobatic Arts, PBT
Miss Mandy has been dancing in studios and on stages for the past 25 years. She received her Advanced Diploma in Music Theatre Performance from St. Clair College in 2012. She is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique, and Acrobatic Arts. She also has studied ISTD Modern, CDTA Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Miss Mandy has also trained in gymnastics and cheerleading. Miss Mandy has performed in many popular shows such as Cinderella, High School Musical, The Wiz, and Grease, where she got the opportunity to work/train closely with So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Melissa Williams. Miss Mandy is looking forward to another fantastic season and sharing her love of dance with all her students.
Mrs Jennifer Harrison – RAD, AAC
As a Dance Educator for more than 25 years, Ms. Harrison has always been fascinated by the Artistic Process and the mechanics of movement, promoting training in all genres of dance with a deep respect for all art forms.
Receiving her formal training at the Ryerson University Theatre School, Ms. Harrison was fortunate enough to work with top industry leaders and choreographers. Ms. Harrison continued her studies in both Cechetti and R.A.D. Ballet Pedagogy along with Modern and National Dance at The Oakville School of Classical Ballet andThe National Ballet School of Canada.
As a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Ms Harrison holds her Teaching Certificate and Teaching Diploma (Distinction), specializing in Anatomy and Dance History. Ms. Harrison is also an Affiliate Member of the Russian Society of Ballet (SRB. AFF).
Along with her extensive Ballet training and Certifications, Ms. Harrison also holds Teaching Certifications with; The Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association (CDTA), Acrobatic Arts (AAC Level 1), Yoga Rocks for Kids and Barre-None (Ballet Barre Fitness Certification). Professional Memberships include; Professional Adjudicators Alliance (PAA), The International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) and The Dance Health Alliance of Canada (HDC).
In 2018, Ms. Harrison was voted onto the Executive Board of HCA Dance Theatre in Hamilton and also sits on Board of Directors for Arts and Culture Council of Burlington (ACCOB).
For 20 years, Jennifer was the Owner and Artistic Director of Burlington Studio Dance (BSD) staging numerous productions including The Nutcracker and Choreographic Works. BSD also housed a successful Competitive Team winning several overall Top Studio awards, National titles as well as personal Choreography awards. Many of Jennifer’s students have gone to train in Summer, Associate and/or Full Time Programs at prestigious schools in Canada and the U.S. As Ballet Director of BSD, Jennifer successfully entered students in all levels of Ballet Exams through the Royal Academy of Dance. She has also had the privilege of teaching all genres of dance over the years and train many Teachers who have gone on to have successful careers in Dance.
As an avid Adjudicator, Choreographer and Educator, Jennifer has had the privilege and honour of working with thousands of students in the GTA throughout her career. Always a student at heart, she still attends Professional Development and Master Classes when possible. Jennifer looks forward to sharing her passion and inspiring our next generation of Artists in whatever capacity she can!
